A Day in the Life...

**Edit** It sounded sketchy by me saying, "Kat, I'm glad you're close to me..." I meant glad that you live close to me now. Hmm, maybe that wasn't sketchy. Oh well...just for the record....

Creepy Man Van

Well, I'm about to kick off a fun Memorial Day by hanging out with my favorites at Kat's apartment. It should be a kickin' good time. It's always so much fun with those girls. (Kat, I'm glad you're close to me...now we can have miniature shin-digs all the time!)...Well, Friday is the big move day. I priced trucks to rent, and renting, in Kat's words, "The creepy man white van," is the cheapest...and I can drive it. So, creepy man van it is. We got the tile in the kitchen, and it looks superb. I love it. The guy below us thinks we're making it into a palace...far from a palace, but it'll be my little palace fo' sho'. Anywho, I am heading to Decatur...where it's always greater...to have many laughs and smiles. Ciao!

And the list gets shorter...

So, tomorrow will be fun...I am sure of it. My mom, myself, Kat, and possibly Callie will be going to a Gypsy sale...interesting to say the least. Hopefully it won't be all junky...some good finds await. Today I basically finished all of the painting in the condo...some windows await and I need to paint closet doors and the 2nd coat on the bathroom ceiling...but besides that, it is almost done. I bought a vaccum tonight, which was great. Bagless is the way to go people. Tomorrow my Dad is going to put my tile down, so I am so excited about that. He has been so great with this project...it just makes me realize how great of parents I have...I love them both so much. I began packing tonight, and I stumbled across 2 old Wesleyan newspapers...hilarious. It really has been so long ago that we were at Wesleyan...I almost missed it tonight...almost. I started to feel homesick tonight. Why? I am not sure. Maybe because I am moving out for good...not just for the school year, but I no longer reside with my parents. Most people would be thrilled, and I am so happy and lucky to have a place of my own, but I love my parents, and we get along great, and I will miss them. I am sure that I will be home alot at first. I already miss my room. It's been mine for almost 21 years...I guess I have attachment issues. I think I will just go to bed, so I will feel better tomorrow, and the packing can be post-poned until later.

Lalala

Well, I have paint on my hands...permanently, I believe. I'm so sick of this stuff...I need to get this condo finished ASAP. I have to start work on June 1st...or the 1st Monday in June, and I don't think that I will be done by then. I still have to put the 1st and 2nd coat of paint in the kitchen...touch up the door frames with paint...paint the bathroom ceiling...put the 2nd coat of paint in the bathroom...get the plumber over there (well, I am now thinking this will be done after I move in)...PUT THE KITCHEN FLOOR IN...buy a stove and get it installed...get a washing/drying machine...hit up IKEA when they have my daybed in stock...UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

Why is this my life? So stressful...

Fun Facts

Here are just a few fun facts I picked up along the way...

Clinophobia is the fear of beds.

No piece of paper can be folded more than 7 times. (Is this correct?)

Earth is the only planet not named after a Pagan god.

The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows---it was the fashion in Renaissance Italy to shave them off! (gross)

Thomas Crapper was the man who invented the flushing toilet. (Thank God for the Crapper)

The average chocolate bar has 8 insect legs in it.

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.

During WWII, IBM built the computers that the Nazis used to manage their death/concentration camps.

Abe Lincoln bought 50 cents worth of cocaine in 1860.

9/10 people believe that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb...newsflash---he didn't. It was Joseph Swan.

The plastic things on the end of shoe laces are called aglets.

The green stuff on the occasional freak potato chip is chlorophyll.

"Jaws" is the most common name for a Goldfish in the US-- (Callie, you better have one of your shrimp named Jaws...)

A duck's quack doesn't echo---nobody knows why.

**Edit** I hope I won't be dead!

Conflicted...

So, I have no idea what will happen the rest of the weekend...hopefully something fun. We originally planned to have a fun fiesta at Kat's in the D-town, but I think Callie wanted to have people over to her house or some party or something...so I dunno what will happen. Tomorrow, my cousin is graduating from Marist...my little Melissa has grown up! I'm so proud of her. She decided to go to the University of Miami-Ohio, which is super exciting because it's a pretty good school. We are then eating at Garrison's at Perimeter Mall, so that should be a yummy free steak. Afterwards is up in the air...

I got my new toilet installed today, and it looks beautimus. I love a nice clean new toilet...it brightens my day...sad. My boyfriend is so handy and amazing...I love him to death! I popped up the drain in my tub, so I need to get that replaced asap because I cannot run water in the tub until there is a drain, and the shower pipe is not attached to the wall. Roto Rooter (sp?) will be called this week and they better deliver!

Well, I'm exhausted after driving a golf cart around on campus all day...old women crack me up. Driving them around wasn't half bad...but I was informed that by the age of 75, a person's knees will not be as stable as they should be! Hopefully by that point, I'll either be dead or have my knees replaced.

Feedback Please?

So, I'm conflicted. I already have a babysitting job that is 3 days a week and about 4 hours a day that will pay at leaset $8/hr...which would equal $96 minimum/week. That would equal $384/month...

Megan said she made about $200/week, but I'm gonna try and keep my hopes lower, so I'll be happy when I make alot.

I posted an ad on Craigslist, which may have been sketchy, but I had a response from a woman who wants me to babysit on Tuesdays from 8-6 and make $10/hr...which would equal $100 for the day, which is amazing. The only problem I have is that I don't know her, and it may have been sketchy that she found me on Craigslist. She owns a bakery in Decatur, and she has a professional e-mail address, but I don't know if I should overload myself with working 2 babysitting jobs...

My mom says that $50/week is too much allowance; however, that is what I've been getting for the past 2 years...ugh.

I hate money issues, it just sucks to not have any. Should I take that 2nd babysitting job?

Busy as a bee...

Thank goodness school is out...I could write an entire post on just that topic. Geez. So far, I've seen my friends often, which is great because hopefully I'll do some serious bonding and partying this summer with my favorites :-)! Since school has been out, I have been so lazy, which is really bad because I am now off of my work-out routine. I think once I move into my condo (which will hopefully be in the next two weeks!!!!!!) I will be able to be on more of a routine because I hate the Y near here, and I have to do so much more painting/renovating still. Grey's was amazing tonight...I almost cried and screamed in so many parts...and I get TWO HOURS MORE OF IT tomorrow night...which Bobby is going to accompany me in watching. It should be fabulous. Anyways, I have already begun to make plans for my "Condo-Warming" Dinner/Get Together...it should be awesome. I found some really cute margarita glasses, which I feel will come in handy. Today I lined my cabinets with pink liners...they are really cute, I must admit. I have to finish measuring and cutting them tomorrow. I put the first coat of paint in the bathroom, and it is looking better...hopefully my mom will let me hang a black shower curtain...my favorite color. Hah, well here's what I hope will happen this week:
1. Alot of sleep
2. Going to Old Time Pottery with Callie
3. Seeing Kat and the gals
4. Seeing my Bobby
5. FINISH PAINTING
6. Pick out my new toilet, bathroom light fixture, and tub knobs

FUN...call me...I'll be around :-)

Over and Out...

Well, school is ALMOST over...I'm done with classes, and I finished my Poli Sci 211 final today...nice. Tonight I am going with Bobby to Fernbank to look through the telescope...nerdy, I know, but I have to for my Geology lab. My professor is the Astronomer-on-Duty, so that should be interesting. Anyways, I don't have too much to say except that I am STILL busily working on my condo...it should be done soon...I am already getting tired of living out of my bags at home, and I really wanted to spend the night at Bob's tonight, but yet, I am still under the parental control. Oh well...free food and free laundry...what else could be better? Well, I am heading off to sell some of my old clothing to Plato's...they'll rip me off for sure, but $5.00 is better than nothing I suppose! Ciao...please call me if you want to hang out this summer...I am FREE!
